Bolt's Metallizing, Inc.
Bolt’s Metallizing was established in 1980 to provide the aerospace and industrial markets with high quality, cost effective thermal sprayed coatings.In early 2015 Bolt's was acquired by the Curtiss-Wright Corporation and now operates as part of their Surface Technologies Division.

We utilize state of the art equipment and technology to provide solutions to problems involving wear, erosion, corrosion, high temperature, and vibration.

Turbine engine applications include abradables, ceramic thermal barrier, anti galling, anti fret, vibration damping, and wear resistant coatings for original equipment, and overhaul and repair. Dimensional restoration for mis machined or worn components is provided using materials compatible to, or having similar metallurgical characteristics to the original alloy.

Metallizing is a particularly valuable tool for restoration because the low processing temperatures preclude many of the problems associated with welding such as warping or the need for expensive heat treatment.

Our facility includes Plasma, Arc Wire, Combustion wire, and Combustion powder processes. Robotically controlled gun manipulation with dedicated programming, high quality fixtures and tools, aggressive quality and process controls combine with our highly trained operators to consistently yield product of high integrity to aircraft standards.

Coating quality is continuously monitored by our in house metallographic laboratory. This asset provides “real time” analysis of current production in addition to supporting development and engineering projects. The ability to certify and self source for customers such as Honeywell International greatly improves lead time and enables us to quickly respond to special customer needs.

A state of the art, totally integrated, documentation system, along with dedicated personnel allows us to provide short turn times and fast response to customer orders, including requests for special handling.

Bolt’s Metallizing is ISO 9001:2008, SAE AS9100 C, and NADCAP accredited and also holds many OEM approvals for coating of aircraft and industrial components.
